Mike Wells (Abiding Life Ministries) understood what it meant to "die" metaphorically on the cross (in terms of letting the bad ideas die off to allow the birth of the "new creation"... i.e. new ideas). I continue to be amazed at how substituting Jesus (Yeshua, or Λόγος as you've eloquently put it), allows us to relax, disconnect from the irrelevance of this "world" we live in, and apply importance to the relationships we form with one another. The sharing and growth of life (or Λόγος: reason!) is of utmost import to our longevity (and humanity!) as a spiritual consciousness. There is a darkness always willing to swallow us... but to know it has already been defeated, allows us to grow unencumbered. Thank you for sharing everything you've gathered and learned over the last few years. I see nothing inconsistent with the teachings of Christ that you have brought to light.
Being brought up in the material world much of our thinking is transactional. What subjects should I study to get a well paid career? What investments should I buy into. How can I recreate Smaug’s pile of gold? How can I avoid tax? We tend not to question the reality we are born into because we are never encouraged to do so. It just is. Instead we get brainwashed with narratives written by great historians about founding fathers or creators of the benevolent state or the great philanthropists or the “great” fathers of schools of philosophy who were just so smart that it was inevitable that their ideas would be lauded. The next prophet builds on their legacy and we have a Darwinian evolution of ideas using dialectical synthesis until today where only the best ideas are at the pinnacle of modern thought. How dare you not accept them?
Maybe, just maybe, these ideas are the ones that were allowed to emerge by oligarchs of the day to suppress alternatives that may have impacted them? The oligarchs have evolved and continue to do so.
The Logos type of critical thinking requires personal sacrifice to step outside the world of convenience where ideas have been outsourced to “experts “. I remember a kids programme on UK TV when I was young which was named “Why don’t you switch off your television and do something less boring instead ?“. Maybe we need to switch off from our smartphones in a similar way and dedicate some time for thought and reflection.
Good point! Paradigm shifts are difficult unless truth is more important to you than emotional comfort.
I think the need to fit in and not rock the boat also plays a big role in why some people refuse to accept truth or even recognize it when it's obvious... if the rest of the herd is refusing. Safety in numbers. We're programmed that way. Being outcast is a difficult experience which is why shunning is such an effective societal management tool.
This was especially evident during covid among doctors who enjoy high status in society. They almost unanimously agreed to pretend masks were effective against viruses despite knowing full well they weren't. The ones who told the truth were dismissed, both from their positions and from the club.

Thanks for the kind words. I’m working on a framework that integrates this into a package for a book I’ve been working on for 3 years.
