3-1 million gallon tanks and they go dry early in the night. The ground attack was the only weapon the fire department had it was sabotaged. Sorry, I can't accept incompetence.

I think that one of the tanks is only 411,000 gallons. I'am starting to think that maybe incompetence is possible-how do we reconcile that?

Shocking photos Peter! Happy to hear you and your wife are safe.

Do you think there is anything unnatural about how these fires started, especially given the time of year (i.e. middle of winter)?

Expand full comment

No. High winds did it.

And the source of ignition was ____?

Maybe a blue beam fired from a low-flying aircraft. That's how homes have been "blown up" during California wildfires before -- why wouldn't they use the same method to start a fire in a handy windstorm?

Blue Toyota land cruiser made it through, along with plastic trash can.

Of course! Just like Maui. Land grab for 15 minute cities. No one will live here again. Government pays pennies on the dollar. Building Back Better. And do you know the amount of valuable minerals, like lithium, are there? yup

How did so many of those trees avoid getting burned up?

why do cats ask stupid questions?

I’m sorry to sound insensitive to your tragedy. The Paradise, CA fires a few years ago, and the more recent fires in Lahaina, HI also had suspicious looking burn patterns, especially in regard to the trees. Many experts believe those fires may have been started and directed by DEWs. I’m truly sorry for your loss.

Too bad about your house ..I'm in metal house and it's no safer.

For the most part it's because the very small leaves are in violent motion in the high winds and the sparks, cinders and flaming bits don't make contact or stick long enough to ignite them.

Buildings on the other hand have ventilation panels, screened eaves and nooks and crannies where a hot particle can deposit out of the wind and ignite. Once ignited, material burns quickly, draws in air, and once the building surface is breached (primarily roof) it burns explosively.

There's no shortage of counterintuitively weird effects to see in the aftermath of an explosive gale+ force wind driven fire. I've personally stood on the scoured clean surface of a structures concrete pad and looked into the gutter of an adjacent small wood building and leaves in it were hardly scorched and the paint on it wasn't even bubbled.

The same property had a small vineyard with wired mature old grape vines. On its face the vines looked to have miraculously survived but I was told look closer, they're all ruined. The area grass hadn't been mowed, and the wind had laid the dry grass down near flat simultaneous to the fire racing through it a matter of seconds. The "trunk" at the base of each vine plant was torched through so cleanly it looked like a laser or oxyacetylene torch was used on them.

I saw melted wheel's remains filling the gutters in images from the East Bay Hills fire, but in one of the Author's [GREAT] shots note that you can see that a vehicles engine blocks melted!

Sorry to hear of you & your wife's loss... I have a feeling I share a loss with you too.

Should you feel a little cramped on your friend's couch and have a desire to go back for more photos, perhaps you could shoot mid-to-upper Lachman Lane-ish area. I personally have been searching for photos for the end of Duende Lane (1366 specifically).

So many fires, lack of fire folk, and expansion of fires.... I have yet to see anything on TV or here online show that area yet. It's all mostly the village.

Only if, and just saying 😉.

I grew up in the Palisades, thank you for your pictures Peter... many childhood friends down there and good times spent. It's all just so sad.

Thank you for your share Peter. May God bless you, your wife, and all your loved ones 🙏

Please don't hate me for my post, I think we're all desperate today for some kind of knowledge/pictures. And good luck to us all in the future... Perhaps to bump into you one day far from now sipping on a coffee in the Palisades. Cheers fellow Palisadian! ☕

Hey y'all...

I finally found an interactive actual photo/map that was posted online yesterday (1-10-2025). It most likely may very well show if your home still stands or is gone.

DEW strike again. They will burn down whatever they want burned down.

The only directed energy they needed was arsons on e-bikes. Quit falling for the epistemologically weakest argument.

I can only trust my eyes. The evidence seems overwhelming in Maui, Paradise, LA...melted cars and green grass. There are literally hundreds of videos like this.

Per 1984: “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

Have you ever been in or around a fire? I have. There is nothing special about these fires except the things I eye witnessed: 1. The fire department "ran out of water." 2. They DID NOT FIGHT THE FIRE. The fire department let my entire neighborhood burn. They are blaming "climate change." Quoting Orwell doesn't make your words any truer, it's baseless rhetoric. Distracting people from the obvious is probably ignorance, but if it's malicious, might as well be considered counterintelligence. Why should anyone believe some nameless anon on the interwebs? My name is PETER DUKE, and your ideas are baseless conjecture that distract from the obvious. Level up or GTFO.

I live in Murrieta. The power was turned off for 3 days, so I have seen no pictures. Your pictures are devastating. I am really out of the loop, trying to understand how much of Pacific Palisades is gone. I do know my aunt and uncle's home of 57 (!) years is gone. A modest house, with spectacular views (Bollinger Drive). I assume that whole neighborhood is gone.😔 Can you refer me to any sites that is documenting the disaster by address, if any? Thank you for your photos. I hope you were able to save a few important items, and you got out safely. (I have a cousin who lived in Paradise during the Paradise Fire, and she got out by the skin of her teeth.)
