I had a most surprising encounter the other day. I was purchasing a flash drive for backup purposes for my iPad in a store. The assistant was able to identify the correct one and we had a conversation. You may not know but the UK government has ordered Apple to provide a back door for it to access private citizens encrypted iCloud storage. Anyway this led us onto a longer conversation about the state of our country and how our public is unaware of the bigger picture of increasing control. It is surprising how cathartic it is to talk to someone of a similar mindset and chimes with the importance of small gatherings mentioned in the article.
There is a phenomenon that is happening. I've spoken to many people one-on-one about my supposition that the Palisades was burned down on purpose by oligarchs with plans for the area. Most people - who were not directly impacted by the fire - accept the premise without skepticism. This is new. People impacted by the fire with insurance - who still cling to the hope of "rebuilding" - have too much cognitive dissonance to even contemplate, and return to their battles with the bureaucracy. People who are underinsured (most) are faced with circumstances so unimaginable as to be in a complete fog. I am among them, but my work gives me some focus. People who belong to permanent support groups like AA, seem to be the most functional. AA is a group where people sit in a circle and talk to one another. Part of our societal illness begins in classrooms arraigned in rows. We need to *see* each other as peers in order to listen, and apply our λόγος , only together can we move with love towards the good, towards God.
Definitely one of your better columns. Of course, sadly Jesus' religion got coopted by institutions. I think there is a fundamental need in some people for them to have an outside human source tell them what to do, as they don't trust their own judgements and it frees them of responsibility for their actions. How many people did you tell not to take the shots, and how many actually followed that advice?
While you are right logos is the answer, it requires work. Work that many are not willing to do. Just like people believe the man in the white coat, as the Covid scam proved, there is predilection to authority for some people. Maybe most. History is replete with this kind of behavior while there are only a very few examples of the opposite.
While free Greeks, the only free souls in a world of slaves, may have asked did the deceased at a funeral did they live a life of passion, the only true judgement for a free person, many would not want to be judged on that standard. Then or now.
Peter, this was right in the money. I can’t wait for the book. We are waking up. Posts like this will hopefully wake a few more up. Let’s keep pushing forward, reaching out to those who will listen.
Excellent teaching.
Thank you! This is fun too... https://thedukereport.substack.com/p/ai-on-ai-on-ai-on-jesus-and-c-wright

Thank you, I'm doing the best I can. I think the past couple of days have been pretty productive.
I think it takes a few minutes to render. You're quick on the trigger!
