i am following this devastation from south of the equator in South America. I am so saddened for this loss Peter. I grew up near Burbank. Then moved north as a young adult and I lived in Santa Rosa, Calif for 40 years. We had three fires around us in four years from 2017 to 2020 and saw this kind of destruction. It is surreal. Then we left permanently. We've just had lots of fires here in Ecuador two months ago and we lost forests on our land but rustic house was not burned down. Lack of rain and dry conditions made for lots of forest fires. Fire fighting here is not done with water but with burn backs and shovels.

I have recently been viewing your excellent work on the Duke Report. I am praying for you and your wife and your community. If you need to get away for a bit, Ecuador is rich in culture and food.

So sorry you and all others are going through this. I heard someone in Altadena area describe similar to your heartbreaking photos. This tour must have been a difficult one for you.

I can only offer prayers. Thank you for sharing.

So good to hear that you, your wife and daughter are all safe. Condolences to everyone from a subscriber in Norway. Not always able to Zoom because of the time difference, but value your work immensely.

Wishing you lots of inner strength and loving people around, Thank God you, your wife and your daughter are safe, if you have pets I hope they are fine as well. The pics are beyond what one can imagine such utter destruction. Look up Polly St. George on x, her comments are interesting. It does not undo what happened but might answer the qui bono question halfway. May the rest of this year bring you only miracles. I am realistic, I expect miracles. Thank you for the work you do and have done and shared with the world, kindest regards, Grüß Gott.

I'm sorry you're both going through this misery. Fire destroys so completely. Though I've endured two house fires in my long life the devastation of an entire neighborhood & community is beyond belief. Maui and Hurricane Helene "weather events" are beyond the Pale. Is "Buy Me a Coffee" the best way to send a bit of help?

Although it is devastating and the fire has put your life in turmoil, maybe it is a sign to leave the Los Angeles basin. Everything happens for a reason; pray for guidance and stay open for your next opportunity. Looking back in 5 years time, you may see it as a blessing.

According to Business Insider, those people who lost their homes simply failed to do their proper yard work. The Getty Museum survived, because they cleared the brush in a perimeter five feet from the building.

um...yeah. In case you want to read the entire pointless and heartlessly timed article, it;s right here:

Upgraded to "founding". Good luck in your recovery.

I am so sorry for your families loss. You will build back. My grandparents lived on Livorno drive for almost 40 years before they passed. That whole neighborhood is gone now. I left California in 2008 for Henderson, Nevada. I absolutely love living here. You might consider it!

So sorry for your loss Peter. This is horrific!

Please stay safe.

If you don't mind, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this as someone on the ground right now and who can report based on what their own eyes are seeing:

I am so sorry that this has happened to you your family and neighbors. It is heartbreaking to see your photos of the destruction of your community. It’s overwhelming for us to see this from afar, and I really can’t imagine what you are going through. Thank God your family survived.

Wow, I thought someone irresponsibly started a fire in your building, or something along those lines. This is much bigger than I had initially thought. So many lives upended..

I’m sorry. I know you both lost a lot of stuff, I’m genuinely happy you both are safe. I told Avery and we are going to try and help as much as we can. Love you guys

My goodness, that is heartbreaking. I'm sorry that you and your family are going through this, but at least you are ok.

There is nothing natural about these fires. This is more of the same weaponry that is being used against us to "build back better". Your picture are evidence of that. This is a great interview with an arborist that was censored off of YouTube shortly after it was posted: https://www.bitchute.com/video/wUFFYiJTvQ7I/

Thank you for sharing. I hope you and your family are able to find a new home to settle down in and to heal.

such destruction is so difficult to fathom. I agree there's nothing natural about these fires. Even though Duke reports the trees are burned, there are quite a few green box hedges and green in-tact ornamental hedges in front of the gate and in the garden of the completely evaporated brand new 520 Via de la Paz home. All the melted cars ... just not natural. Thank you for that link. I've seen him interviewed several times. Always authoritative information. It's very difficult to take in the evidence of harm. My heart goes out to all who've lost so much.
