Bafflegab rearranges more or less to Babelguff as an alternative.

Burning Obama's first Presidential champaign, I was flying cross country in business class sitting next to a very intelligent, well educated young lady. She was very professional, an extremely successful Wall Street investment banker. As we had time to kill while eating dinner, she made it very clear that she was completely infatuated with Barack Obama. She went on and on about he was exactly the new kind of politician we needed to solve America's problems. As I just sat and listened to her, she eventually stopped waxing eloquent and said "I suppose you like the Republican candidate?" As I was a Libertarian at the time, I said I didn't like any of the main party candidates.

I think she was pleasantly surprised and returned to praising Obama. After a while, I said that I didn't understand her love of Obama. She reiterated he was new and different, the kind of politician we really needed. I told her that I had lived in Chicago and that Obama came from one of the crookedest Wards in one of the crookedest Towns in one of the crookedest Political Machines in one of the crookedest States in the country. How could he be the new kind of politicians she thought he was? How could Obama be "new"? That stopped her.

I didn't particularly want to distress her further but I wanted to ask her one more question, to which replied affirmatively. So I asked if a CEO with that kind of background came into you to ask for money and all he said his strategy was "Hope and Change", would you give him money? After a long pause, she disappointedly said "thanks, you ruined "Hope and Change" for me."

Thanks Peter, "you've ruined Bafflegab" for me. Actually you haven't but I thought you might like this.

As an earnest consumer of all ubiquitous products, I scurried and do now scramble into trap after trap of having my thoughts, feelings and emotions formulated by the “they.” A little of this and a little of that with so few thoughts and ideas of my own. Like- SO few.. so few. Phew!

The “they” do have names and do have orgs and connections and are mammoth. “They” are the hive the kind that build towers. The tower/hive that will (as history repeats) be disassembled by something bigger, only to be reassembled. Interesting that one of the labels that is being utilized is “they/them.” Ironically by trying to stand out some of us proclaim how badly we want to fit in. Even borrowing a label for it. Thank you for supporting my education and clearing some of the fog created by the “they.”

Another excellent informative article Peter, thank you. I like learning new words and todays take is ‘bafflegab’, explains many things we hear today exactly. I believe it important to use words and language to the full; we can see how the deconstruction of language and speech today controls thought, opinions and ideas!

h/t to @Sigmagames (Vox Day). I heard him use it several years ago. (I believe in regard to his excellent “Jordanetics”). It’s not often that you hear a single word which reframes your perception, but once one understands the ubiquity of bafflegab, it becomes easier to discern genuine fog from a deliberate smokescreen. Likewise, some highly regarded axiomatic ramblings of Marx, Aristotle, Cicero, Marcus Aurelius, and the German Idealists can be safely put in their proper proper place in the library — closer to the rubbish bin — once one recognizes the cause-effect complex equivalence basis of the arguments they make. (It saves a lot of time, too). Berggruen, like Jordan Peterson, provides non-stop examples. The entire Berggruen organization reminds me of some construct of the movie, The Magic Christian, where — I assume — some Rothschild or some other actual oligarch plays the role of Peter Sellers. I marvel at the amazing effectiveness of the Fabian “left” in their ability to deploy Monty Python tactics on the scale that exists today. In the end though, one needs to recognize that Q Fabius Maximus is Biggus Dikkus, if not to become part of the ubiquitous joke. Thank you for your comments and support. https://youtu.be/FE2zTnOJ94I?si=twGY_5b6krv_0n2P

Yes very much so Peter. I see and hear all this ‘bafflegab’ every day now, I do tend to use at times colloquial expressions like ‘bullshit’ to identify it as I think it gives a nice tone! You mentioned the late great Peter Sellers, albeit in a reference to a Rothschild (aka red-shield) perception deception, I recalled one of his brilliant works - ‘Being There’, worth a revisit today. My perception is becoming so attuned now that I am beginning to see bafflegab and plain BS in almost everything around, even so called history is full of it (as you have so eloquently detailed). The depth, clarity and truth of touching consciousness enables an understanding that gifts the potential of infinite perception. Need to enable perception in many more people.

Indeed Frank, I am an avid music ‘listener’ and comparing material from the 60’s and 70’s (where extensive bafflegab was at play) to present day there is a shift in focus, brainwashing the populace in other areas that suit the narrative! There are a few out there with a more open message…
